Welcome to the first edition of the Meliora Academy newsletter. We’re glad you’re here.

If you’ve taken a look around our website, you will know that Meliora Academy is an independent piano school offering conservatoire level piano education for the intellectually curious. Our curriculum integrates technical mastery through the Taubman Approach and Alexander Technique, historical context, critical listening, and analytical thinking. We treat piano study as a discipline that extends well beyond the keyboard, one that shapes how students think as much as how they play.

We welcome students aged 14 and above, at any skill level. Adult learners, music undergraduates, and those pursuing music education are especially encouraged to get in touch, though all applicants with genuine curiosity and commitment to growth are welcome to apply. We believe rigorous musical training should not be limited by cost or access, and every part of our approach reflects that conviction.

This newsletter will be an occasional space to explore how music works and how it’s taught, ranging from questions of technique and interpretation to the thinking behind our curriculum as it takes shape. This space will feature a variety of different articles or anyone with an interest in piano study.
